Northern California’s heavy psych/doom ‘n roll rockers Deer Lord are back with a new song, “Dark Matter.” The band shared a promo video with The Third Eye to prepare us for the single, which will be available on all streaming platforms on June 1st (tomorrow).

Deer Lord, formed in 2019 from the creative minds of Sheafer McOmber and Ryan Alderman, is a band that defies expectations. They draw inspiration from the misty roads of Northern Californian mountains, crafting a sound that’s a unique blend of heavy grooves and screaming amplifiers. This trio is driven by their love for the unpredictable underground sounds of psychedelic rock and their affinity for obscure-sounding pedals and drop-tuned strings.
Thus far, Deer Lord has released three excellent EPs – the self-titled EP from 2020 and 2023’s Dark Matter, Pt. 1 and Live from the Deer Cave. Their music is killer-no-filler, chock-full of heavy grooves and wicked riffs.
