WyndRider is a stoner doom quartet from the mountains of East Tennessee that is returning with a new record, Revival, due on June 7th via Electric Valley Records. The single “Motorcycle Witches” is available on Bandcamp and gives us a taste of what these mountain stoners have in store on their second LP.

WyndRider harnessed the momentum of their self-titled debut album last year and hit the studio in early 2024 to record Revival. They say it’s the sharpened knife of a band that has refined their sound. And in the mountains of East Tennessee, knives and other weapons are important for hunting, right?
After playing all over the eastern U.S., the group returned home to Appalachia and focused on the hopes and horrors of living there with an unapologetically heavy Sothern groove. The album is washed in the blood of its region, shedding light on the smoke and mirrors of life in the Bible Belt and providing a fix for those left craving more after the first dose that WyndRider brought to the heavy underground scene.
“Motorcycle Witches” is a terrific track with a Seventies-styled, old-school metal groove. Chloe Gould’s vocals shine bright, and Robbie Willis’ riffs take us through the Appalachian night. Josh Brock (drums) and Joshuwah Herald (bass) provide the rhythm, locked into a groove reminiscent of Clutch and the best of stoner rock. It’s a killer song, and I expect the album to be just as good.
If you dig “Motorcycle Witches,” check out WyndRider’s self-titled debut album from last year. WyndRider makes music that’s perfect for stoner rock fans, but there’s touches of psychedelia here and there that create a great heavy psych blend. Enjoy!
