San Francisco doom trio Acid King will return to Europe this spring on their most expansive continental tour in years, performing their 1999 cult album Busse Woods in its entirety each night. It’s the first time the record will be played in full on European soil.
The run marks a significant moment for one of American heavy music’s most quietly influential acts. Rarely touring outside the United States, and rarer still venturing into Scandinavia and the Balkans, the band is offering European audiences an overdue encounter with a record that has quietly shaped the fuzz-doom underground for more than two decades.
“Acid King is bringing Busse Woods to Europe for the first time, by playing the release in its entirety,” says frontwoman and guitarist Lori S. “Please join us and experience in person the heavy fuzzed-out trip to the woods.”
The album’s live debut in full comes at a moment of renewed visibility for the band. The opening track, “Electric Machine,” recently appeared in Sirat, the Oscar-nominated independent film, introducing Busse Woods to a new generation of listeners.
From that song’s locked-groove hypnosis to the swampy, slow-burning sprawl of the title track, the record remains a masterclass in psychedelic weight and restraint — music that demands a room, a sound system, and patience.
