It starts like this: the Earth ends, your favorite heavy psych band dissolves into smoke, and Christian Peters hops a plane to Brazil with nothing but a guitar and a cosmic itch. Out of that tropical rebirth came Fuzz Sagrado, his new psychedelic vessel. It’s less of a band and more of a spirit channel.
Now, Strange Daze cracks open the vault. This isn’t a “new” record in the conventional sense. It’s a lovingly dusted-off time capsule, a remastered fusion of the first two digital-only EPs: the self-titled Fuzz Sagrado (July 2021) and the elusive Vida Pura.
Think of it as the primordial ooze from which Peters’ kaleidoscopic beast emerged. And now, it’s pressed into wax for the first time—warm, analog, alive.
Legendary knob-twister John McBain (Monster Magnet, Desert Sessions) handles the remaster, injecting just the right amount of solar flare into the original recordings. The fuzz breathes deeper, the delay trails longer, and the acid burns cleaner.
Sonically, it’s a haunted caravan ride through the psychic ruins of late-’60s San Francisco and into the cracked horizons of ’90s desert rock. Think: Yawning Man jamming with Quicksilver Messenger Service, or My Sleeping Karma channeling the heatstroke hallucinations of a Joshua Tree afternoon. No vocals? No problem. These tracks speak in riffs, in reverb, in soul static.
This LP is a roadmap to the early mutations of a project that is still growing new limbs. For the heads who crave instrumental journeys with grit, gravity, and a touch of sacred weirdness, Strange Daze is a rite of passage.
Limited vinyl. Unlimited trips.
