Yallah, a veteran force from the Nyege Nyege sublabel Hakuna Kulala, brings rapid-fire, multilingual verses that slice through Goat’s swirling, lysergic haze. The track earned instant acclaim, landing on BBC 6 Music’s coveted ‘A’ list and garnering spins from tastemakers like Gilles Peterson and Iggy Pop.
Rocket Recordings now expands the vision with a Nimerudi Remix EP, five reimaginings stretching the track’s DNA into thrilling new directions.
Wayne Adams (of Petbrick and Iggor Cavalera fame) opens with a dark, after-hours twist, trading sunshine for fog-drenched cityscapes. GNOD follows with a punishing slow-burn, stripping the original bare and rebuilding it into a writhing machine of distorted sine waves and psychotropic pulses.
Malcolm Catto (The Heliocentrics) delivers a standout, invoking Ege Bamyasi-era Can with cosmic funk rhythms and deep analog swirl. Claude Cooper closes the EP with a crate-digger’s dream featuring funk breaks, turntable flair, and dusty vinyl vibes bringing it all back to the dancefloor.
It will be released digitally on May 30th and on a limited-edition 12″, which includes the original track and a bonus cut, “Seu Sangue,” previously unreleased on vinyl.
