Great news, psych fans: Rocket Recordings has announced a new album from Swedish psych masters Goat. It’s the group’s third record in three years (fourth if you count The Gallows Pole score). Simply titled Goat, the new eight-track collection will be released on October 11th. Get ready.

The band recently released the first single off the new record, “Ouroboros,” explaining that it’s about “The cycle of rebirth means the refinement of the soul. An evolution in which we slowly find our direction. Our own rhythm.”

Check out the music video for the new single below:

The Ouroboros, an iconic symbol depicting a snake or dragon consuming its own tail, holds varied meanings. To some, it represents the raw brutality of nature. To others with a Gnostic perspective, it symbolizes the duality of the divine and earthly realms within humanity.

Most commonly, it embodies the endless cycles of death and rebirth that define life on Earth. This potent image resonates deeply with Goat, the enigmatic and ever-evolving collective. Their latest album transcends conventional boundaries, offering a new and exhilarating journey beyond our reality.

The band, known for albums like Requiem and Oh Death, once again showcases their commitment to transcendence and metamorphosis with their latest eponymous release. Building on the soul-searching, folk-infused Medicine and the dark, atmospheric soundtrack for Shane Meadows’ The Gallows Pole, Goat continues to surprise and captivate. In this album, they conjure rhythmically-driven rituals that are unmistakably uplifting and scintillating, effortlessly igniting dancefloors and expanding minds alike.
