Gnod & White Hills have resurfaced with Drop Out III, a resurrection of their cross-continental communion. It’s the sound of two bands revisiting their own mythos and pulling back the curtain to reveal new specters: alternate takes and bonus tracks carved from the same feverish Drop Out era.

Initially forged in the late 2000s, the Drop Out series has become a kind of Rosetta Stone for modern psych-rock voyagers. But III is no dusty archive. It breathes. It writhes. Tracks like “Run-A-Round” and “Drop Out” retain their motorik locomotion but wear new faces.

Rearranged, retextured, dipped in freshly mixed psycho plasm. The familiar becomes uncanny. The uncanny becomes essential.

Side three gifts us the full, droning glide of “Air Streams,” now in its uncut, meditative sprawl. And then there’s “Decorating Time,” a rare gem of delay-drenched delicacy, revealing White Hills’ deft touch with negative space. Gnod counters with “Nothing NEU! Under the Sky,” a pulsing livewire that channels kosmische frequencies straight into your bloodstream.

Drop Out III doesn’t just revisit the past. It expands it, colors outside the lines, and invites you to stare until your perception dissolves. Nearly two decades later, Gnod & White Hills remind us that the zone is never closed. The trip never ends.
