Desert rock trailblazer John Garcia is hitting the road this summer, bringing his sun-scorched howl and heavy groove legacy across North America.
From June 26 to July 13, the former KYUSS frontman will tear through the West Coast and Midwest, joined by Telekinetic Yeti, an aptly named duo that sounds like fuzz pedals came to life.
Garcia’s setlist will span his mythic catalog: KYUSS, SLO BURN, HERMANO, all the sand-blasted riffs that helped define a genre. The tour closes (sort of) with a special July 19 homecoming show in the desert vortex of Pioneertown, California, sans Yeti, but rich in cosmic vibes.
Garcia’s band includes guitarist John Bennet, bassist Billy Cordell, and drummer Greg Saenz, all of whom are tuned into the frequency of low-end thunder.
Reflecting on his KYUSS years, Garcia recalls the sweaty garage jams with Josh Homme, Brant Bjork, and Nick Oliveri as pure magic: “We didn’t care what anyone thought. It was attitude, not ambition. We were writing our own path.”
Still marching that path decades later, Garcia is time-traveling through the dusty desert-lands he helped conjure.
Catch the preacher of fuzz while the amps are still warm.
