Outremer emerged from the chaos of Tel Aviv in 2020, a city perched on the crossroads of history, conflict, and cultural fusion. Their name—Outremer (French for “overseas”)—echoes back to the Crusader states of the Levant, a symbol of conquest, collision, and contradiction.

It’s a fitting moniker for a band born in one of the world’s most polarizing regions: where the sands of the ancient Near East meet the echoes of Western modernity, where traditions and tensions swirl together in a never-ending dance of beauty, madness, and terror.

Formed in the twilight of the pandemic by a group of local musicians, Outremer wasn’t just a project—it was a compulsion. A response to the fractured reality of the 21st-century schizoid world order, their music captures the bewildering era of post-truths, existential uncertainty, and surreal absurdity.

Outremer channels the collective anxieties and curiosities of the modern age through their own psychedelic lens, weaving soundscapes that feel both timeless and urgent.

Their debut album, Silky Smooth, is a testament to rock’s transformative power—a wild, electrifying collision of decades-old influences filtered through a contemporary lens. Outremer deftly balances the bone-rattling heaviness of Sabbath-era riff worship with the carefree melodies of ‘60s beat and garage rock.

Their sound stretches across genres and generations: gritty noise-rock reminiscent of Unsane, post-punk’s razor-edged urgency, hypnotic stretches of hallucinogenic tension, and even flashes of rockabilly psychosis that spiral into uncharted territory.

Armed with the spirit of over half a century of rock ‘n’ roll, Outremer is a sonic manifesto, capturing the contradictions of a region and an era like no other. Welcome to the noise, the nuance, and the new dawn of Outremer.
