Sons of Morpheus will celebrate a decade as a band in 2024, and they’re ushering in the milestone after recently releasing an epic fourteen-minute-plus single called “Hello Stranger.” The Basel, Switzerland-based trio started as a blues-rock project named Rozbub but has since morphed into a psychedelic and stoner rock mutant over the past ten years.
The power trio comprises members Kurmann and Kink alongside recent addition Pablo Jucker on vocals and guitar. The band has released three albums thus far, with a fourth scheduled for March 2024. I’m assuming “Hello Stranger” will be part of that fourth album, but that’s just an educated guess on my part.
Member Manuel Bissig left Sons of Morpheus during the pandemic, but despite the internal shifts, we’re told the group’s “authenticity, creativity, and passion remain unwavering.” Their creativity and passion are evident on “Hello Stranger,” a rocking track on the heavier side of psychedelia that reveals the band’s bluesy origins and highlights its affinity for stoner rock riffage.
I couldn’t find much information about Sons of Morpheus, but I like what I’ve heard from the group. Two of their previous albums include 2017’s Nemesis and 2019’s The Wooden House Session, which consists of wicked track titles like “Doomed Cowboy” and “Paranoid Reptiliod.”
Check out Sons of Morpheus’ new single, “Hello Stranger,” and keep your eyes peeled for their new album in early 2024. Enjoy!
