As we welcomed in spring last month, we also welcomed a tremendous amount of great new psychedelic music. March saw a slew of new releases that made it difficult to put this list together. It could be the Spring Equinox that had artists worldwide feeling so creative and inspired.

Several outstanding new records came our way via Centripetal Force, including those by Jack Silverman Quartet, Patrick Sansone, and SOMA. California psych-garage rocker Charles Moothart released an excellent new album. The Italian psych-rockers Thomas Greenwood & The Talismans also returned with new music. Ambient musician Golden Brown released a new record called Kindness via Aural Canyon Records.

Atlanta-based Echodelick Records came through with some goodies, too, as expected. Colourless Green Ideas by Misty Lanes is a tremendous new record released via Echodelick, along with From The Limbo by Empty Full Space and a new album from the prolific Ivan The Tolerable.

But perhaps my favorite release of March was from NYC-based Vague Plot via Island House Recordings. Vague Plot’s Crying in 9 has received much praise online for a good reason. The cosmic jazz-meets-psychedelic groove of this improvisational record is not to be missed.

Here are The Third Eye’s favorite releases of March 2024:

Be sure to support these hard-working musicians and bands by buying their music on Bandcamp and doing whatever else you can to let them know you appreciate the beautiful sounds they’re releasing into the world.

I hope you had a great March and that you enjoy some of these albums!
