Cactus for Breakfast is a Berlin-based indie surf rock band passionate about weaving sun-soaked riffs, infectious grooves, and melodies that stick with you like desert sand.

Drawing inspiration from surf rock, psychedelic soundscapes, and the dusty drama of classic Western films, their music is an adventurous soundtrack to wide-open horizons and sunlit escapades.

2024 was a whirlwind for the band. They released their debut EP, Horsemilk Hangover, captivating thousands of listeners around the globe, and brought their electric live performances to stages across Berlin, Hamburg, Bremen, and Rastede. Playing over ten shows last summer alone, they felt the incredible energy of a growing audience.

Now, Cactus for Breakfast is kicking off 2025 with a bang. On January 7th, they released a brand-new single, “Take Me Where You Go,” the first of seven singles leading to a new compilation later this year.

With its reverb-soaked guitar solos, a dreamy, slow-burn psychedelic section, and basslines you can feel in your bones, the song takes listeners on a journey of exploration and connection.

At its heart, “Take Me Where You Go” is about following someone into the unknown—embracing risks, surprises, and the thrill of discovering where the road leads.

The band’s sound is as diverse as their lineup: Robin Wilms (vocals & guitar) and Timo Wunderlich (drums) bring their German roots to the mix. Shane Wagner (vocals & guitar), hailing from the US, adds a transatlantic flair. From Indonesia, Thomas Dwi Putra (bass) rounds out their global groove.

Together, they blend the vibes of ‘60s and ‘70s surf and psychedelic rock with the energy of modern indie acts like The Nude Party, The Grogans, and Sun Room.

With seven singles slated for release in 2025, they’re gearing up for a year full of music, festivals, and live performances. Berlin has been the heart of their journey, and they can’t wait to connect with even more fans worldwide.

While we don’t recommend actually eating cactus for breakfast and question the nutritional value of such an idea, we do recommend this band and their new single.

If you dig ’em, check out Cactus for Breakfast’s debut EP from last year, Horsemilk Hangover, and follow them throughout 2025 as they release new music. Enjoy!
