Cosmic Trigger is a young, London-based producer who continues to release immersive new instrumental music with a penchant for psychedelic sound design in the ever-evolving electronic music landscape. Jamie Grashion’s alias is Cosmic Trigger, and his latest EP, A Floating World, consists of three excellent tracks that take listeners on a fascinating cosmic journey.
Cosmic Trigger has played some of the biggest festivals in Europe and America, including Ozora, Burning Man, and Boom. He has also supported many internationally acclaimed acts, such as DJ Shadow, Thievery Corporation, Orbital, Ott, and more.
Like all of Cosmic Trigger’s music, A Floating World isn’t afraid to push boundaries. “Sky Canoe” opens with ethereal synths slowly evolving into a kaleidoscope of sounds, each layer carefully crafted to create an otherworldly atmosphere. The production is pristine, with every colorful detail given space to breathe, creating a sense of sonic depth that’s a joy to behold.
“Nectar” continues the cosmic voyage, introducing complex rhythms and mesmerizing sounds that feel like alien life resonating through the realms of space. The track’s progression is unpredictable and hypnotic, weaving through various textural layers that evoke images of drifting through star fields and encountering unknown celestial phenomena.
The EP closes with “Opal,” which also features Raja Ram. The song showcases Cosmic Trigger’s ability to blend organic and synthetic sounds. Lush soundscapes punctuated by tribal percussion create a sense of ancient mysticism intertwined with futuristic exploration. The fluidity and evolving structure of “Opal” keep the listener engaged, always wondering what will come next.
The experimental soundscapes of Cosmic Trigger’s A Floating World slightly differ from what we usually cover at The Third Eye. Still, they offer an enjoyable listening experience for those who are open-minded. Jump through wormholes with Cosmic Trigger on this new EP and immerse yourself in his psychedelic sound design full of unexpected twists that’ll keep you on the edge of your seat.
