After a little hiatus, Third Eye Radio is back, and this time, we’re going full tilt into the weird. Things are always a little strange around here, but this episode leans into it more in a literal sense.
For this broadcast, I unearthed a forgotten oddity from the Internet Archive: The Strange Dr. Weird, a short-lived radio program from the 1940s. Creepy narration, pulpy plots, dusty static, it’s audio ephemera at its finest.
I stitched Dr. Weird’s audio together with a hand-picked psych soundtrack: familiar names you may recognize from the blog plus a few new discoveries. Old-time radio on its own is fun. Old-time radio with psych rock is the kind of thing Third Eye Radio exists for.

This episode’s includes:
- Mitsuru Tabata / Mike Vest / Nick Raybould (Asura Airavata)
- Hippie Death Cult (from the Wish You Were Here 50-year Floyd tribute)
- Sun-Rot, Jon Camp, Generifus, Lule & As Crianças Adultas
- Rick Snowden, Children of the Mushroom, Tim Barnes, Riko & Whaler
- All wrapped in Dr. Weird’s haunted radio program
If you’re into strange sounds, forgotten broadcasts, and psych stitched together with love, this is your ticket.

Stay tuned. Stay weird.
