Emerging once again from the shadows of Canada’s underground, Slow Dawn returns even angrier with Sonic Death Flow, a feral transmission of sonic destruction. The follow-up to their 2022 cult release, Into the Machine Haus, this latest offering delves deeper into the abyss, where gothic psychedelia and scorched punk converge into a vortex of distorted sound.
Centripetal Force (North America), Cardinal Fuzz (UK/Europe), and Psychic Handshake (Canada) will unleash this new LP into the wild on June 27th. It will be limited to 200 hand-pressed vinyl copies.

More about the band … Slow Dawn’s relocation from Ottawa to Montreal detonated their process, forcing evolution through chaos. What surfaced is an album tighter in form but even more unhinged in spirit. Drummer D.R. DiLauro and bassist Iceman lock into propulsive, motorik beats while guitarist/vocalist Dan Druff channels his psychosis through strings and voice.
The new record seethes with existential dread and malice toward modernity’s digital chokehold, as the lyrics detail the acceleration of our collapsing systems, media noise, and creeping techno-alienation, urging defiance and release.
It’s heavy stuff, both sonically and thematically, and cathartic for our current, depressing historical moment. The intended audience is those of us who want to free ourselves from The Matrix, and perhaps also others who harbor secret designs to overthrow the government. If you don’t identify with those descriptions, I’m sure you’ll still enjoy it.
