New Single: ‘Sun and Moon’ by Scott Hepple and The Sun Band

Scott Hepple and The Sun Band are a psychedelic/garage rock band from Newcastle Upon Tyne, U.K., with a new single off their forthcoming second LP, Lammas, due May 3rd. “Sun and Moon” is the name of the single, an explosive piece of psych-rock good for fans of Ty Segall and classic rock favorites of old.

Hepple and The Sun Band favors a throwback Sixties/Seventies sound, with their biggest influences being Neil Young, Black Sabbath, and the aforementioned Segall. The upcoming record, Lammas, was recorded analog with Maximo Park’s Duncan Lloyd, and it was mastered by the renowned Chicago-based engineer Carl Saff (Sonic Youth, Ty Segall, J Mascis).

The garage-punk sound is evident in “Sun and Moon,” a track with a ferocious energy and driving rhythm. Hepple and The Sun Band burst at the seams with rebellious spirit and gritty charm, gripping the listener from the first riff and not letting go until the last cymbal crash fades away. It’s killer stuff.

The band will share the rest of its raw energy with the release of Lammas on May 3rd, so mark your calendars. If you like “Sun and Moon,” check out Hepple and The Sun Band’s debut LP from 2023, Ashes to Wildflowers, more rocking tunes bursting with thunderous drumming and fiery guitar licks. Enjoy!
