The Third Eye has been making and sharing Spotify playlists for a little while now, but I’d like to get more officially into playlist curation. The idea came after working with an indie artist named Jayne Karma Lamo, whom I’m helping submit her music to various Spotify playlists with large followings. I figured I could get in on the playlist curation game, too.

I’m starting this effort with a new playlist called “The Third Eye’s Top Picks,” which I’ll share the link to below. I plan to keep the playlist relatively short and regularly updated with the best new and old psychedelic music I’m listening to. The playlist currently includes Jayne Karma Lamo, “Future Days” by CAN, a new track from psych-gospel pioneer Gypsy Mitchell, a new song from Psychic Love Child, “She’s a Rainbow” by The Stones, and much more.

Yes, I know Spotify is evil, but it’s the streaming service I use. As Jayne told me, showing up on Spotify playlists with a large following can help an artist’s algorithm and boost their plays and other numbers. They may not make much money off this, but it at least gets their music in front of more people and can hopefully garner some new loyal fans in the process.

So, if you’re a musician or band and want a spot on The Third Eye’s Top Picks playlist, let me know! I plan to post about it occasionally, maybe once a month, to let people know the new music added and any updates.

Artists interested in being on the playlist can email me at 3rdeyepscyh[at]gmail.com.

Let’s hope this brings more great, underground psychedelic music in front of more listeners and helps lift the indie music community!
